Meet Sunleaf

MEET YOUR MENTAL PERFORMANCE COACH

Sunleaf Hinton of SAS Performance ConsultingAs a current CrossFit athlete, former competitive swimmer of 16 years as well as volleyball player and singer, Alexandra "Sunleaf" Hinton is no stranger to the physical, mental and emotional highs and lows of performance and competition. In fact, the excitement of navigating these experiences is what keeps her passionately involved in supporting athletes in their pursuit of excellent performance.

Outside of consulting, Sunleaf enjoys song writing and recording, camping, hiking, downhill skiing, and taking advantage of all Colorado has to offer. This is of course in addition to rooting for her home Green Bay Packers!

Education & Training

Along with her athletic training, Sunleaf utilizes her master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver to provide effective, empirically based mental skills training programs for her clients.

In addition, Sunleaf has recently become a licensed Therapist in the state of Colorado along with eight years of experience as a Mental Health Counselor on the Eating Disorders Unit at Children’s Hospital Colorado.  Given this, she is highly skilled in the facilitation of anxiety management, mindfulness and effective communication skills, and holds a deep appreciation for the challenge that eating disorders and disordered eating can have on an athlete and their family.  While Sunleaf does not provide clinical mental health services, she has developed various skills and insights from counseling patients that directly apply to and benefit her athletic clients as well.
